As for students, the majority of them looks at the efficiency of each type because some of the violin lessons are poorly constructed. Beginners tend to be easily confused with the progression of the courses. Even after a year, many of them feel that they are not learning anything new. For the parents, particularly, they need some type of feedback or return of the money that they invested. It is hard to convince parents to continue paying for the lessons without showing them any kind of progression in the children. Typically, recitals are a good way to entice parents into signing up their children for the following sessions. It might not be a very honest marketing strategy but it works all the time. There are two digital pianos that aren’t cheap enough to be considered an entry-level digital piano, but aren’t expensive enough to be considered an intermediate-level digital piano. The Casio PX-3 and Korg SP-250 cost around $700. Generally, these are for beginners who are willing to spend a little more cash to get better quality. Now, you’re probably asking yourself, “But which one is better?” I believe that is the Korg SP-250.

These two digital pianos have a lot of similar qualities. First, lets talk about the keys. Both the Casio PX-3 and Korg SP-250 have impressive keyboard action for its price. The Casio PX-3 has the ivory matte touch keys while the Korg SP-250 has the RH3 keyboard action. Both are the best action keyboards for their respective companies. However, I believe that Korg’s is just a bit better. Its weights feel exactly like the acoustic piano’s while the Casio’s feel slightly plastic. The heavier weights on the Korg just give it a more “full” feeling. Although the PX-3 uses ivory keys, it still has that slight “digital” feel to it. Meanwhile, Korg’s just feels so natural. This might also explain why the Korg SP-250 is nearly twice as heavy.

The piano sound is almost equal. Both have pros and cons. Casio’s allows for a more dynamic playing style with its 4 sampling layers while Korg’s is less subtle with its 2 sampling layers. However, the PX-3 has shorter sampling length, loops, and decay. This means that the PX-3 sounds much better when playing fast passages than when playing slow compositions. As a result, I give these two a draw. Sure, the dynamics in the Casio’s are nice. However, the short sampling loops are just so obvious that the slow passages do not sound good.

Finally, Casio has the advantage when it comes to the “miscellaneous” categories. For example, it has stronger speakers. It has more instrumental choices. It’s also lighter and more portable.

Overall though, I still think the Korg SP-250 is better. I want to buy the digital piano for its grand piano simulation. I don’t care about anything else. If you care more about the versatility, then you’ll probably like the Casio PX-3 better. However, I care about the overall grand piano feel, and in my opinion, the Korg SP-250 is better overall.

I have finally gathered adequate courage and also the money to enroll myself with a music school for acoustic guitar class. Since I am on a budget, I did some thorough surveying before I finally purchased the best acoustic guitar I can get with my allocated fund. In order to ensure that the guitar is a good one, I will need to check on its neck action. This is the most vital factor one has to take note when choosing an acoustic guitar. The neck action is the distance between the strings from the fret board. The nearer the fret board is, the lower the action. The essential part here is to pick one with the lowest action and also one which strings do not get in contact with the fret board when it is open. The sound quality produced by the guitar is entirely dependent on the sound box. This is affected by the wood used to build the body of the guitar. The best sounding acoustic guitars are made of spruce top and mahogany side and back.
